FAQs

Firearm Policy

Under Florida law, citizens are permitted to open carry firearms while engaged in hunting, fishing, and camping. While the club fully supports the 2nd ammendment and your right to carry, we ask that while engaging in club activities, you do not open carry. If you do want to carry a firearm during club activities, we kindly ask that you carry concealed.

Do we provide fishing poles and gear?

We have a limited number of extra poles and gear available if you happen to forget yours. However, we ask that members bring their own equipment when attending club activities. Our extra gear is shared on a first-come, first-served basis, and we kindly ask that it be treated with care.

Do I need to be sober to join?

Our club is a safe, drug/alcohol-free community. You don’t have to be in recovery to join, but we do ask that all members respect our commitment to sobriety at events and activities, and stay sober during them.

Is there a membership fee?

Yes. Membership is $15/month, which helps us cover costs for events, gear, charters, and community activities

How do I become a member?

Joining is simple! Fill out the membership form on our website and submit your dues. Once registered, you’ll get access to upcoming events and updates from the club.

Can I bring family or friends to events?

Absolutely! Guests are welcome at most events, and it’s a great way to introduce others to the club. Some activities may have limited space, so be sure to RSVP early (guests may have to pay for charter events).

What happens if rains on an event day?

We’re outdoorsmen, and we believe that ‘a little rain never hurt anybody’, but for heavy rain we will usually reschedule small events. Our large events will have rain check dates scheduled.

Do you provide food and drinks at events?

Sometimes! For bigger gatherings, we’ll often have food provided, but for smaller meetups, members should plan to bring their own snacks and drinks. check the Events section to see if food will be provided.

Do I need a fishing liscence?

Yes. A valid Florida fishing license is required to participate in club fishing activities, unless you qualify for an exemption (such as age or disability). If you don’t have a license, a member or board member will be happy to help you get one. It should only take a few minutes, and if you’re a Florida resident, the shore fishing license is free!

What does “sober” mean?

In our club, “sober” means free from alcohol and mind-altering drugs such as narcotics, or other substances that impair judgment and behavior. We ask that members and guests do not use or bring these substances to club events.
We do not include kava or kratom in this definition, as they are often part of the community culture and are considered acceptable when used responsibly.

How can I support the culb if I don't fish?

There are plenty of ways! You can volunteer at events, donate gear, buy club merch, spread the word, or contribute financially. Every bit of support helps us grow and reach more people.
